sci builds multi-user data entry screens from an extended ASCII template which is created by an editor such as vi. The data input into a screen is saved in an extended ASCII tab-delimited file. The record locking is NFS capable. The data may be both timestamped and serial numbered by the program. The template may supply default values for a data entry field, and fields my be marked as numeric data, or alphabetic only. sci uses curses for screen control, and protects non data entry sections of the screen from alteration. sci is meant to be used with sort, grep, cut, sed, and awk from shell scripts to build applications.
